Christmas 2007

i hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and time with family and friends! Once Christmas eve finally got here, i began to feel the Christmas spirit, but up until them i was Scrooge in disguise. Unfortunately the true meaning of Christmas was lost around here and I got caught up in a whirlwind of stress and depression. we did not put up any decorations in the house at all and half of what we had outside didn't even work. maybe if i had done that it would have helped?

I did enjoy myself at my mother-in-law, Debra's house and at Scott's grandparents house on Christmas eve because it was layed back and not a lot of people. Christmas day at my parents house was very nice. it was just us, mom and dad and my sisters family. I did miss my grandparents, but there was a great spirit there, it must have been them!

Kyle still does not know the real meaning of Christmas, nor does he really understand about Santa, but he sure did start to really "get" the gift part!

He stared to recognize and point out Santa, he just doesn't realize yet that he brings the gifts! i can't wait to see the magic in his eyes when is waiting for Santa and the reindeer! eventually we will teach him the real meaning of Christmas, but first i guess i need to start getting back to the basics and feeling it in my heart.

Kyle got a lot of cute cloths, tractors, balls, a stick horse, a view finder and a hand made quilt form his aunt Stefanie. along with much more! His favorite gift though was a 99 cent ball and a Chinese paper yo-yo! Silly thing!

Ty got cloths, a rainforest music box for his crib and also a handmade quilt from aunt Stef.

This year i finally got to buy scott the "good" gift (with the help from his best friend!)! He got a new deer rifle that he has had his eye on for a while. i think finally he was excited about what i got him!

i have already made my new years resolution. it is to not let the holidays sneak up on me again. i want to be able to really enjoy the whole season and not ruin it for everyone around me. I don't want the boys to think of Christmas as stressful. i am really having to start looking at EVERYTHING different now!

Family outing

With Pop; Krestyn and Ty. With Nonnie; Kyle and Cooper.

Scott, Jenn, Kyle and Ty

Lin, Ben, Krestyn and Cooper

Two years ago we all went as a family to see the Polar Express in 3-d. It was a really nice night and something we wanted to continue doing. So this year, no one is pregnant and the big kids are big enough to really start enjoying stuff. we went to the Woodlands to see "snow" and real reindeer. Unfortunately because it was 80 degrees 4 days before Christmas the snow was melted, so they shut down the event before we got there. At least across the street was a nice light display. It wasn't exactly what we had in mind, but the kids had fun and that is we were after!

Starting and passing on Traditions

For years and years i remember how exciting it was when mom and dad brought out the Christmas ornaments and we went to buy a tree. Mom would hand us the ornaments while lin and i took turns hanging each one in the perfect spot, while dad would be sure to tell us where we had a "bald" spot on the tree.
Now this year the traditions have officially been passed down to the babies. Mom and Dad had us over for dinner and to decortate the tree. Mom sat with the box of ornaments, just like with us in the past and handed them one by one to Kyle and Krestyn.
A first i thought they would be to little and now have intrest or not know what to do with them, but boy was i wrong! they knew just what to do and the enjoyed it. They were both so diligent in where they placed each one and SO proud of themselves! Krestyn liked hanging more than one on each branch, man i thought it was going to send my dad into cardiac arrest!
Amazingly enough there were only 2 broken ornaments, kyle broke the first one and in the chaos of trying to pick it up before someone stepped on the broken glass Krestyn broke her ornament.
They lost interest in about 30 minutes, so Mom finished decorating later, leaving all their ornaments exactly where they hung them. The tree looks so good(of course to a mothers eye!) and every time they see it, they walk around pointing to the ones they put up!
So that was a few nights ago, last night we went back over for dinner and to watch Frosty the Snowman. Neither one of the kids are big TV watchers, so I figured again that it would be a lost cause, But they layed on the floor with Pop and watched the whole thing!
After the show we walked them down the street to see all the lights.. And when i say ALL the lights i mean i think these two ladies in these houses literally bought ALL the lights at wal-mart! it is crazy the amount of stuff they have in there yard, but fun! The kids got a kick out of it!
And so the traditions continue, I can't believe how awesome it was to watch my baby decorate that Christmas tree!

Happy (early) birthday to me!

Scott surprised me with an early birthday present the other day! He got me the 50mm 1.4 canon lens i have had my eye on for awhile! it is a fast lens so i can get pictures inside, in low light, without a flash. he is SO great, and always gets such wonderful gifts. One of these days i will be able to repay him and get him something that really surprises him, i say this because i am a horrible gift giver. i have NO imagination when it comes to picking out the perfect gift for someonr. it does not help that he has two of the most expensive hobbies for a man, hunting and golfing(sort-of, he doesn't really golf much anymore)!

Well anyways~Scott if you read this *THANK YOU* so very much for thinking of me and getting me this lens!

(now i need to learn how to use it!)

(Above) Scott and Kyle inside @ night, NO flash, just above light!

Christmas shin-dig

last night was scott's Christmas party at Carmelo's italian restaurant. He has worked at Agar for over 3 years and this is the first time we have attended the party. it was very nice get-together with over 100 people. The food was fantastic and the entertainment was a very nice jazz band .

I was especially excited about going to the party for one, i have never been to a nice Christmas party. i work at a small business and we do a pot luck every year. The other reason was finally a good excuse to get dressed up! I went out and bought the cutest little black dress and my mother-in-law bought me an awesome pair of boots for Christmas that she let me wear!

it was the first time ty has had a babysitter, so that was hard. Nonnie and Pop watched the boys for use, luckily at the house because we did not even eat dinner until 10:30pm! We left early without dessert, because i felt bad to be away for so long!

It was nice to finally get to meet and put faces to all the people scott talks about all day!
*So a little about this picture, Kyle was PISSED OFF because we were leaving and would not let us take the picture with out him, so we got them both in it! And i did stop at the store a got a pair of panty hose! Aren't those the cutest boots? i have ALWAYS wanted a pair, but was always to picky about them or to fat. NOW i finally found the right pair and they will zip around my huge legs! doesn't scott look handsome? it is not very often that we get to see him all dressed up and without a hat!*

Halloween

I know i am all over the place and backwards with my posts, but i just loaded these pictures. please excuse the spit-up in my shoulder! Kyle DID NOT want anything to do with his costume or with trick-or-treating. of course in his defense it was a typical houston halloween, it was probably close to 500 degrees outside! he did calm down and start to have fun toward the end of the night.

Krestyn & Cooper Santa '07

So far ALL of Krestyn's pictures w/ santa and the easter bunny are of her hysterical so this was not a surprise. actually she was pretty calm compared to the past! And have you seen a cuter smile as coopers?

Santa '07

linzie and i braved the mall this morning with all 4 kids and got pictures with santa. i am still amazed at how well kyle sits there! ty got a little upset, but pulled himself together. kerstyn flipped out, but we all knew that and copper had the biggest smile! i don't have lin's pictures, maybe later this weekend.

???

i don't know what the heck happened to my banner and i'm not really sure how to fix it. i am a little dissapointed.

I'M BACK!!!!!

*HOLY COW* i am finally back after how many months and about the last 6 days of being on the phone with various tech support people. not sure it was worth the total and complete neglect of my family though! But none-the-less i am back and so excited, i really missed blogging.

i am not even sure where to begin! i guess with what we did tonight. our neighborhood is having a christmas party for the kiddos. includign tree decorating at the rec center and santa clause. So they handed out small wooded ornaments for the kids to decorate. Kyle and the little girl across the street painted them tonight.

after they were finished i got all sentimental and decided that there is NO WAY that ornament will be put on the neighborhood tree(outside)! That is the first piece of art that Kyle created and all by himself. it is staying right here, to be put on our tree now and to adorn it for all the years to come, screw the neighborhood:)!

(yes, i put a paint brush in ty's hand and he put a few splotches of paint on his!)

computers and remodels... pain in the rear!

Yeah-so-we still have not gotten our computer fixed. It really sucks to have to borrow other peoples computers, its just not the same as using your own. You just get use to the simplest thinks like, your own key pad, mouse, home page, the speed of your own computer, how to load picture's and where they go. It feels so imposing to search around on someone else's computer to find pictures and things. its just a pain in the rear!
But on the other hand, the floor is coming along nicely. Scott is doing a very nice job for never having layed tile before! his lines are straight and the tiles are flush with each other. I've got before pictures and daily pictures i will post soon..
hopefully this floor will be done soon(soon after hunting season... a whole other subject) and scott can REfocus on getting our computerS fixed! and yes anyone who caught that, the s is capitalized on purpose... we have two practically new computers broken!
Ty is getting super big still and Kyle is being a brat... whoever said terrible two's stared at two?? I think they are continuous from 1 1/2 to eternity.
i also got a few pictures of Ty and Cooper together i will post those soon also.

Quick Update

i don't really have the time to write a lot, but i will at least post some picutres for you guys that have been begging!!

Ty has just about doubles his weight in 6 weeks! he is sleeping pretty well(better than kyle) lately!
We are unfortunatly in the middle of a remodel, scott decided a few weeks ago to tear up our nasty carpet and put in tile. i should be use to it, but it is miserable! it is dusty and stinky and our furniture is everywhere but where it should be! The bad part to this project is that of course it has evpanded to not only tile but new base boards, we are going to tear out the brinks in front of and aroundthe fire place and put marble, and possibly new formica on the counter tops. hopefully it will all be over soon!
well i will be back soon!

So needless to say i have not updated here or even been able to check e-mails for 2 weeks because our technology of the future is down. so don't completly write me off and stop visiting my blog because we will get it fixed soon!

Pediatrician times 2

Tuesday was an experience. I had to take both boys to the doctor for ty's 2 week check up and kyle's 18 month. luckly mom went with me, i don't think my heart could have handled both of my babies getting shots all by myself! kyle had to get two shots and ty had his heel pricked to get blood for state screening. it's really not as bad as i make it sound because kyle barely cries(he was more upset that he dropped his fruit snack during the shots) and ty pretty much slept through his. They are both growing and developing well, although they are both on the short side. i just can't imagine why??!!! ty has already gain 1 whole pound and grown an inch! the doctor was a little surprised he gained that on only breast milk! i am not surprised at all because i think i could feed my kids and the neighbors at this point, i have a lot of milk this time around! i'm sure everyone needed to know that!

Aug 27, 2007

getting back to life

I know ty is still so small, but i had to get out this weekend. scott took us to target and while we were there only a few minutes(kyle needed a nap super bad), it helped me feel like a part of the real world! i am still not ready to go all over the place yet or to take them both out myself, that still seems a little scarry!

We also had mom, dad, lin, ben, coop, & krestyn over for sunday dinner/moms b-day last night. scott grilled burgers and hotdogs, i made mac&cheese for the kids, blah blah. it was nice to actually have people at our house for a change, scott and i don't entertain at all because we can't keep our house clean long enough! the kids had a blast, they have not played together in about 2 weeks. They ran around like a bunch of wild banchies, for once did not fight the whole time! after dinner we watched wild hogs......if you have not seen that movie, you HAVE to! it is so, so funny!
BUT, the BEST(woo-hoo) thing that happened this weekend is that scott sold his '67 truck! I do feel a little bad, because when he bought that truck he had the best intentions and a lot of good ideas, just NO motivation! he started to work on it, or should i say spend money on it, moved half of it into the back yard(Yes- a little on the white trash side!) took the rest apart in the garage, then stopped. I guess with the arrival of ty and me hinting about parking in the garage, he finally decided to part with it. I just can't imagine loading and unloading 2 babies in the weather. so now i will get to park in the garage again. We will see how long that last before he gets a wild hair and new project! Gotta love those guys.

i'm sure you noticed i FINALLY figured out how to put a picture in my header with the help if a blogger that was nice enough to put the instructions in her blog. http://afmwords.blogspot.com/search/label/101 This is the link to her blog in case other less than computer savvy people need help.
The picture is at my sister-in-laws parents farm in Moulton, tx @ christmas time. I love pictures of fog!

Daddy's boy

Scott, of couse, has been a great dad from the get go. i think that surprised a lot of people because he had always been terrified of babies. but great does not even begin to describe the what has happened in the last few weeks. this bedrest thing has been the best thing that could have happened for him and kyle.
I have watch the most amazing relationship grow between those two that it makes me almost jealous. Kyle is no longer at the moment a mommas boy, he only wants his daddy.
scott takes him outside to play in the garage, with the waterhose, he lets him push all the buttons in his truck, gives him his good snacks ALL the time. He really involves him him stuff that he is doing, like shaving here in this picture.
They go to the neighborhood park, walk around the block and to the mail box. I guess i could go on and on, because it is just to sweet to watch.
I know it has taugh scott a lot about how fast kids at kyles age learn and pick things up. kyle is always coping what his daddy is doing, so he is now having to watch EVERYTHING he does or kyle will do it!
I just can't imagine how much is to come in this sweet relationship as kyle gets older and they can do even more.

Announcing....... Ty Alexander Marcus

Ty Alexander was born tuesday august 14th, 2007 @ 1:16 pm.
Weight- 6pounds 5ounces
length- 18 1/2 inches
He is the most perfect thing born since kyle, but of course i've been told i'm a little bias! Everything did go really well, no complications for me or little ty. The doc handed him right over, scott cut the cord and i got to keep him for about an hour, the nurses cleaned him better, handed him back over and he nursed like
a champ!
big brother Kyle LOVES him! as soon as he got to the hospital he climbed right up into my lap and grabbed ty to hold him! It was so sweet. He loves to pat his head and give him kisses!
as soon as he was born he looked like a clone of kyle, but with in the hour he looked like ty. he does favor kyle in the mouth and the eyes, but he has his own little nose. i just love to kiss it! He has long fingers, little tiny feet, but long toes! scott says they look like monkey feet!

it did take awhile to decide on a name, and we didn't even use any of the names on our list. scott just happen to mention ty, and we both loved it.
alexander is a name from my grandfathers family.

we got home on thursday evening, had a house full of guest to greet ty. I think we are about settled in and hopefully it won't take long to fall into a schedule. I am so nervous about how this is going to work between kyle and ty, but we will get it all figured out!
the link below is to the hospital pictues. follow the link and the password is marcus. the first picture was the best one they took, but it really doesn't look anything like him.

Almost over!

Well- Its gonna be on tuesday(tomorrow)! I check into the hospital @ 7:00 in the morning, hopefully it won't take all day long! So i will update sometime later this week with pictures and hopefully an announcement of a name!

Update

This update is a little belated, but I had my 36 week Dr. appointment last Tuesday the 7th. My blood pressure was super high, like 145/101 and I was dilated to 3, my Doctor was ready and prepared to delivered, but Scott and I, both very scarred, begged him for at least 1 more week. He was very reluctant, but agreed to send me over to the hospital for a 2 hour observation to help make his decision. I had my blood pressure measured every 15 minuted for over 2 hours, and it was lower and steady so he let my go home under the strictest of rules. I had to take my B.P. every day and if it went over a certain mark I had to go straight to L.D. all kinds of stuff. So I went home packed my bags, Kyles bags and went to My moms for the week. It was so much easier to do that and My mom was such god send. She loves kyle SO much and had so much fun with him! I, on the other hand, felt like such a bad mom. I was hard not to jump up and play with him, give him his bathes, make him food, but my mom was very strict with me!
Poor Kyle just doesn't understand why mommy is just laying on the couch not doing anything, he sure has a big surprise coming early this next week.
My Doctor Scheduled me for delivery @ 7:00 Tuesday 14th, but I have a Dr.s appointment on Monday morning and I can't imagine he would let me go home so I may have a new baby boy as early as Monday. Well see! We will keep everyone updated!
***** If i have the baby on tuesday i get to pick the same nurse I had with Kyle, she was awesome! but if i have the baby on monday it is Staces birthday(my brother-in-law) AND it is Scott and i's 13 year(dating) anniversay! How cool would that be? *****
This picture was taken on tuesday before my appointment, just in case I did have the baby that day. i look and feel like i am going to explode!

Continues bedrest

I went to the Doc yesterday for my 35 week check-up and my blood pressure did not change. Its no wonder though. Bedrest is impossible with a toddler. I just can't lay around while he is wondering the house board, I feel so guilty. I do try and take it easy because I know how important it is to be healthy for me, Scott and BOTH of my babies. So I am not disregarding the Doc's orders, I am just have a hard time following them. My mom is back in town and helping a little, but it has a lot to do herslf, just moving her and dad back. And for the family that did not know, Linzie was in the hospital last week and had 3 kidney stones removed. So see can't really help. I believe my mother-in-law will come over tomorrow and play with Kyle!

The Doc wants to go 2 more weeks, and I am all for that, But I am afraid that if I go in next week with my b.p. as high, I will probably be having a baby then.

I am SO not prepared AGAIN. I do not have a carseat or any furniture. I went to find a carseat yesterday after my appointment, but couldn't find anything. I had NO idea just an infant seat, that I will use for only few months, is over 100 dollars. I did not use an infant seat for very long with Kyle, but having two babies it will be a lot easier to have that for restaurants and to use on a double stroller. I did not have any intention on buying a (double) stroller right now, but looks like I am so I know what kind of infant seat to get. I did get emergency bottles, some diapers and I have all of Kyles clothes. Blah Blah.... can you tell I am board and don't really have much to blog about!

Bed Rest

I went to the doctor to day for my 34 week check up and my blood pressure was pretty high again, 151 over 94. So, of course I was once again put on bed rest. This is the exact same time it happened last time with Kyle. I am not looking forward to it at all. I will follow all the rules and do exactly what my Doc says, but bed rest is not easy. And it certainly isn't gonna be good with Kyle. I feel bad I will not be able to mess with him much. If my blood pressure is not improved in 2 weeks with bed rest I guess we will have another little guy at our house a few weeks early. That means we need to name the little guy soon! I will keep everyone posted!

Circus of Dreams

The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus of Dreams. Well not for an 18 month old. I knew he would be antsy and not pay full attention, heck I can't even pay full attention at places like that. Way to much other stuff to look at! But dang, I had NO idea the circus would last 2 HOURS!!!!, plus the hour to get in and take the "Animal open house" to see the elephants and such up close. So, he had fun for about the first 45 minutes of the actual circus, playing with the probably $100 worth of junk and candy his daddy bought him. Then they announced the intermission, which I mistakenly thought was a good idea. We took him up top to run around for a few minutes to let out some energy, and it was all over with then, he DID NOT want to sit back down in his seat again. Which again I can understand, so we left. No big deal, I was still happy we went because it was cool to see him excited even if it was only for a few minutes!
He could not stuff that cotton candy in his face fast enough! I guess that's what I get for not giving him sugar all the time! I'm a Bad momma!
On a side note, not to be to negative, I was actually a little disappointed in the circus myself. Now I know it is for the kids and all, but it was BORING. I thought the circus was a continuous upbeat chaotic mess that was hard to watch because so much was going on, but no it was slow and not a lot of action. But who am I to judge, I'm not gonna go join the circus and make it better!

Splish Splash

Kyle LOVES, LOVES the water. He loves the bath, his kiddy pool and he loves the local splash pad. Our neighbors, that have a daughter 7 weeks older than Kyle and a 10 month old, found the splash pad a few neighborhoods over. I was shocked that we just walk up and play, no tags or fee! Its great. We went on monday, inbetween all the rain we have been getting, and he had a blast. He started wiggling as soon as he saw the water. There where about 5 ot 6 big kids out there and he just joined right in, the did not intimidate him at all! One boy was laying on top one of the sprinklers, Kyle knew there was water coming out of it and wanted it. So he walked up and sat on the boys back. I laughted at him so hard! He ran around in all of the toys and water like he had been there a hundred times, it was great to see him interact that way and having so much fun!

Kyles first hair cut

So, Scott and I finally broke down and took Kyle for his first hair cut this past Saturday. I had known it needed to be cut for a while, but tried to put it off as long as possible! You know, that whole letting go thing! We were preparing ourselves for a pretty traumatic event, so I brought along his favorite snacks(raisins) and talked about his hair the whole way there. We both figured like any typical kid he would flip out as soon as they stared and try to grab for the scissors, so we picked a place that was just for kids. They had lots of toys, cartoons playing and a special little car for Kyle to sit in.

Once Kyle got in the car, discovered the gear shifter and got wrapped up he was as calm as can be. We were very proud of him! The ladies were SO good with him and did a wonderful job on his hair! When all was finished, our baby boy emerged one step closer to a "big boy"! They gave him a certificate to celebrate his first hair cut, with a Polaroid picture and a locket of hair attached. I still can't believe how different he looks with his baby hair gone. His hair now is VERY thick and course like his daddy's!

Letting Go

As of this passed Wednesday I have never been away from Kyle over night. Crazy, huh? It's true, I just haven't been able to let go, I have only had a babysitter a hand full of times and that has been my sister. So to Kyle that was nothing new. But Spending the night has been out of the question.
Well, Scott won tickets to the Astro's game the other day at work. Woohoo, great was my first reaction, then of course I started thinking like a mom. Okay, does kyle go or not, who will watch him if not and how late can we really stay out. Then I have to think like a pregnant mom. Can I walk that far, will I be to tired? But that is besides the point. Well Lin said she will watch him since she will already have him, and says " since I will already have him asleep and he will be back over here in the morning anyway, just let him sleep over." I almost had heart failure at the thought of it. But in the end, with little persuasion, he stayed. He lived, I lived, Scott and I had fun at the game and I SLEPT ALL NIGHT!
So, I know there will be A LOT more instances where I will have to let go yet again, but at least I survived this time.

"Roughin' it!"

Oh-Yeah we had it hard all right! This is the first year we weenied out and used a camper, but it sure was worth it! We had a pop-up camper with AC, it may be old, but dang it was comfortable! So Bad! Scott, Kyle and I just went on the annual camping trip to celebrate our niece, Shelby's 10th birthday. It was us, my sister in-law Stefanie and brother in-law Stace, Nolan and Shelby. It is so cool she choses to camp for her birthday, it is always so much fun and the park my sister in-law found a few years ago is awesome!

Birch Creek is a Texas Parks and Wildlife park, right on lake Somerville. The camp sites are wooded, so basically private with a trail right to the water, there is wildlife everywhere ( perfect for Scott and Stace!), hiking trails and nice beach areas at the water.

Kyle had absolutly the time of his life. As much as he LOVES to be outside, he just thought he was in heaven being outside, ALL DAY for 2 1/2 days. He got to play in more dirt and more water than he knew what to do with. He swam in the lake, walked A LOT on the trails and the shore and played badminton with the big kids. I did realize that its the simple things that keep him happy, just give the kid a bucket and some water and he will be happy for hours!

Scott and I also had fun, I never thought it would be just as fun to chase a kid around a campsite all day, as not. It was great to see him have so much fun and experience something Scott and I like so much. And of course we got in a couple of naps! Can't wait for next year!

(yes- I can't believe it either! #1, I'm in a picture and #2 I'm in a picture, in a swimsuit posted on the internet for everyone to see, but hey- thats the cool thing about being pregnant all the inhabitions go out the window!)

Just learning

Just playin' with my new camera and practicing with my photoshop software. Taken outside, fully manual with a curves adjustment and ran through noiseware. Kyle is playing with the game piece to mad gab, he loves that thing!

May 7, 2007

This is my fav picture of my little man, taken right before christmas 2006!

I find myself asking this question at least once a day!
"Where are my key's!?!???"
Why is it so hard for me to keep up with my Keys? I use them everyday for the same thing, you would think I would be able to keep track of them. But because I am such a scatterbrain, I NEVER put them back in the same spot. I find them in the couch, under the couch, in the garage, in the laundry room, the trash (thanks to Kyle!), and sometimes several miles away in Scott's truck! YES- I have had to call Scott on his way to work, as I am trying to leave and ask if my keys are on the floor of his car! As long as that never happens again we will all be fine!
Thanks to my mom though, I can find my keys hiding in my purse easier now. She bought my a cool, bright green fabric key chain, about 4 inches long with a loop to carry them. Now I only have to block exiting traffic at the store only slightly irritating for other people as I dig through my messy purse for my keys!
But for now, I think maybe I will try to put them immediately back in my purse upon unlocking the door as has been suggested before, HA! I won't hold my breath!

P.S. I have actually even lost my moms keys in my neighbors car for about 6 months! Long story!
